Small Groups
Christian Education
At any given time throughout the year, FUMCSB will be hosting small group sessions or classes to help you along your Christian journey. The common saying goes, "knowledge is power", well this is how the bible puts it in Ephesians 1:18-19 ...
"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength"
Our objective is to "understand that all believers are called upon to increase their knowledge of God as he reveals himself, to understand the depth of God’s promise of glory, and to personally know the power of the risen Christ."

How?
Through educational studies in small groups touching on a variety of topics all with the goal of reaching a deeper level of understanding of not only God's word but God's purpose in our lives.
What?
Our small groups are led by lay people who, through their own experience, choose a book or curriculum to share. Often times, the books are from well-known Christian scholars such as Max Lucado and Adam Hamilton, but not always. The subjects have ranged from in-depth looks into the Lenten Season to a heart challenging study on Forgiveness. Usually the information presented opens up a greater understanding of something we thought we knew all about.
When?
Anytime throughout the year these classes are offered for free or for a small cost to cover study guides or materials. Announcements are made online and in church.
Who?
Everyone and anyone. Sign-up and registration forms are in the office during the week and before or after (sometimes even during) worship service Sunday mornings. Call for more information...956-399-2187.
